Maura De Coster, PhD researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, studies isotope archaeology to explore mobility, diet, and identity in past societies. Focusing on Roman borderlands along the Lower Rhine, she uses isotopic analysis (Sr, O, C) to reconstruct mobility, dietary practices, and cultural identities, integrating scientific, archaeological, and historical perspectives.
