
NYU ISAW
A current PhD student at NYU ISAW and a first-generation Lebanese-American, Lauren Malkoun is concentrating on the Roman archaeology of modern-day Lebanon and the broader “Roman East.” Her research concentrates on topography, landscapes, and architecture, adopting a longue durée approach. Furthermore, while researching the eastern provinces of the Roman empire, post-colonialism remains a theoretical approach vital to her interests.
