Catherine is currently a Junior Professor at JGU in Mainz, Germany. Her research looks at frontier sites as urban spaces, using modern urban theory frameworks. Her work in Britain focuses on Vindolanda and Corbridge, and she is part of the disiecta membra project, looking at Roman architectural stone fragments in Germany. She enjoys working with archival data – digging in boxes  –  as well as doing architectural survey and excavation. Talk to her about Roman archaeology on the northern frontiers, architecture and urbanism, and legacy data. Catherine is also the co-founder of the ECR network.
