About Us

Welcome to the Roman Frontiers Early Career Researchers Network! We are a community of scholars dedicated to exploring the rich history and archaeology across all aspects of the Roman frontiers. Our mission is to support early career researchers in their professional development and foster collaboration among Limes scholars around the world.

Our network includes graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-stage academics who share a passion for Roman frontiers. We welcome researchers who study material culture, theory, standing remains, environmental archaeology, and much more – archaeology offers a window into every aspect of human life. Topics of interest among our members include the complexities of border dynamics, cultural exchange, and the impact of Roman military presence on local communities. If you want to know more about the researchers in our Network, check out the Researcher Gallery.

We aim to provide the support ECRs ask for and need – from networks and connections to skills development. Our monthly newsletter includes events, CFPs, researcher profiles, new publications, and more.

Join us for career development events, conference sessions, summer schools and publication opportunities.
